Late-Night Opera: Purcell Dido and Aeneas

Dido and Aeneas – a tale of star-crossed love – is based on Book IV of Virgil’s epic The Aeneid. It is one of the earliest known English operas, and one of the most important of the Baroque period. In this magical, candlelit production, Seb Gillot directs a chamber ensemble from the harpsichord in a new staging by festival favourite, Victoria Newlyn.

Unreserved seating: £20
