This year’s opera is Verdi’s comic masterpiece Falstaff, centred around the lazy knight, Sir John Falstaff, who devises a wild plan to court two wealthy, married women. The women catch on to Falstaff’s plan and decide to teach the portly knight a lesson. Directed by Cornish resident and comic genius Bill Bankes-Jones and conducted by Paul Daniel featuring a stellar cast, including Rachel Nicholls (Alice Ford), Mark Padmore (Doctor Caius), Roderick Williams (Ford), Darren Jeffery (Sir John), Andrew Slater and Peter Hoare (Pistol & Bardolph).
